It is a viral infection that affects the respiratory tract from the nasal cavity to the pharynx, causing inflammation of the respiratory mucosa. Why these essential oils?

The decongestant action of Eucalyptus Radiata

L'eucalyptus Radiata essential oil contains up to 80% 1,8-cineole. It is a molecule with varied properties, all of which are of great interest here.

First of all, 1,8-cineole is strongly anti-infectious, and coupled with alpha terpineol (also present in this essential oil), its antiviral power is remarkable. In addition, it has anti-inflammatory properties targeted on the respiratory tree, which will relieve the inflammation caused by the infection.

Finally and above all, thanks to 1,8-cineole, Eucalyptus Radiata essential oil is extremely mucolytic and expectorant: it will promote the thinning of mucus and its expulsion from the respiratory tract. This property is important, since mucus is produced in excess during nasopharyngeal infection and is responsible for many of the typical symptoms of the common cold (blocked nose, runny nose, cough, etc.). 1,8-cineole, by stimulating the hair cells of the respiratory mucosa, will thus help to evacuate this excess mucus.

Wild Mint reduces pain

L'wild Mint essential oil brings unique components to this blend.

Firstly, the analgesic action of menthol, which it mainly contains, will help relieve the pain linked to nasopharyngitis. But above all, menthol is a vasoconstrictor: it opposes the dilation of blood vessels. During infection, blood capillaries dilate and contribute, with excess mucus, to swelling of the nasal mucosa, sometimes responsible for the feeling of a blocked nose. So the menthol will help limit this.

Furthermore, this essential oil is an effective decongestant because it provides a sensation of freshness which will unclog the nose and because a ketone it contains (menthone) is known for its thinning action on mucus. All these properties make Wild Mint essential to this synergy.

Balsam Fir regulates mucus secretion

L'balsam Fir essential oil bears its name very well, it is indeed a real balm for the respiratory tract. Its composition, rich in terpenes, is the reason: this category of molecules provides real soothing to the respiratory mucous membranes irritated by infection, coughing, blowing your nose, etc.

In addition to its major balsamic property, this essential oil has alpha pinene, which regulates mucus hypersecretion. It complements the decongestant action of 1,8-cineole from Eucalyptus Radiata and menthol and menthone from Field Mint. These three combined essential oils will allow effective and rapid release of congested airways.

And that's not all: once your nose is cleared by this synergy, you will then be able to discover the good smell of "Christmas" given off by the essential oil of Balsam Fir!

The antiviral action of Thyme with Linalool

Since the common cold is an illness caused by a virus, this synergy must have components with powerful antiviral properties. This is the case of Eucalyptus Radiata essential oil with 1,8-cineole. But for even more effective action, it is important to provide other antiviral molecules. This is why theThyme essential oil with Linalool takes part in this synergy. The linalool that it contains for 40% of its composition belongs to the category of alcohols, well known for their antiviral effects but gentler than other antivirals not suitable for children.

Furthermore, linalool is also characterized by a certain anesthetic action which can only be beneficial to children who sometimes suffer from head or throat pain during nasopharyngitis.

Tea Tree boosts immunity

In babies, the immune system is far from fully developed and the body's defenses are much weaker than in adulthood. L'Tea Tree Essential Oil contains terpinen-4-ol whose action on the immune system is therefore welcome here. This alcohol will increase the baby's defenses by stimulating the activity of white blood cells. The production of antibodies will be favored in particular and will allow a more effective fight against viruses.

On the other hand, Tea Tree is an essential oil with balsamic virtues due to its terpene content. These molecules will act like a balm by depositing on the walls of the respiratory tract to soothe and limit irritation caused by coughing. The baby will therefore be relieved and his defenses increased to get rid of this nasty cold as quickly as possible!

Why these diluting oils?

Nigella vegetable oil

When a cold or nasopharyngitis attacks, we often find ourselves having difficulty breathing. L'nigella vegetable oil has a bronchodilator action which allows you to regain your breath, thanks to the nigellone contained in this oil. In addition, Nigella oil is penetrating, which allows essential oils to pass easily and quickly through the skin barrier, to act as quickly as possible and relieve you!

Hazelnut vegetable oil

L’hazelnut vegetable oil is a very gentle oil, which perfectly matches the fragility of children's skin. Thanks to its penetrating texture, Hazelnut oil allows the active ingredients of essential oils to pass easily into the body, to act quickly against colds and relieve your child. It will also leave the skin soft and strengthen the skin barrier.
