A sore throat, difficulty swallowing and fever? You are probably one of the 9 million people affected by angina each year. This pathology is characterized by acute inflammation of the throat. Whether the cause is viral or bacterial, essential oils can be very effective in relieving angina. Red (or erythematous) angina, characterized by redness and swelling of the tonsils, is one of the most common types, especially in children. White angina is distinguished from the latter by the presence of white spots on the tonsils, signs of infection. The anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of essential oils can overcome angina, whatever its color!

Why these essential oils?

Niaouli: a reference against tonsillitis

Niaouli is the essential oil of choice in cases of angina. It indeed has powerful anti-infectious properties. The 1,8-cineole that it contains in majority (more than 50%) is active on many germs and its antiviral power is remarkable here due to its joint action with that of alpha terpineol. L'niaouli essential oil will therefore be perfectly suited in the event of viral tonsillitis.

But it has also been demonstrated that it has a specific action on gender Streptococcus, the bacteria responsible for bacterial tonsillitis belonging to this group. Niaouli essential oil will therefore be just as effective in treating viral and bacterial tonsillitis.

Fine Lavender fights pain

L'fine Lavender essential oil brings important properties to the mixture: it is analgesic and anti-inflammatory. The former of the two is attributed to linalool and linalyl acetate. These molecules have two modes of action. They will, on the one hand, inhibit the transmission of certain nervous messages by intervening on acetylcholine (which is a neurotransmitter). On the other hand, they will prevent the fixation of molecules at the level of certain cellular receptors, in particular the opiate receptors of the brain which have a role in the transmission of the sensation of pain. Using these different methods, sore throats typical of angina will be relieved.

The anti-inflammatory property results mainly from the intervention of linalyl acetate. The latter will prevent the release of molecules responsible for the inflammatory reaction (nitric oxide and prostaglandins).

Geranium Rosat eliminates germs

Rosat Geranium essential oil has monoterpene alcohols with interesting effects for this synergy and not present in the other two essential oils. These are citronellol and geraniol. These alcohols reinforce the action of Niaouli and Fine Lavender. Indeed, these molecules have broad-spectrum anti-infective power. Added to Niaouli essential oil, they will definitely eradicate the pathogens responsible for angina. In addition, these molecules have an analgesic role, and in particular geraniol through an action on acetylcholine receptors.

Finally a monoterpene ester contained in thegeranium Rosat essential oil (citronellyl formate) is anti-inflammatory and comes here as a necessary complement to the action of Fine Lavender to effectively stop inflammation.

Why this vegetable oil?

Argan vegetable oil

To guarantee easy and unmodified passage of essential oils through the skin barrier, it is vegetable oil fromArgan which will be most suitable. Thanks to its strong affinity with the skin's hydrolipidic barrier, Argan allows the active molecules of essential oils to penetrate the heart of the body, quickly, to quickly and effectively relieve the symptoms and causes of your angina. In addition, it is a very penetrating vegetable oil, which will therefore not leave a greasy film on your skin.
