Bronchitis is characterized by inflammation of the bronchi, which causes a significant secretion of mucus blocking the respiratory tract. Thus, a wet cough is the major symptom of this pathology. Essential oils have many therapeutic properties, including decongestant, anti-inflammatory and anti-infectious. A carefully developed combination of them will thus be of effective help in getting rid of this disease.

Why these essential oils?

Green Myrtle against wet coughs

L'Green Myrtle essential oil targets its action on one of the most important symptoms of bronchitis: wet cough. It indeed contains two molecules playing a role in the secretion of mucus by the bronchi. These are alpha pinene which it possesses in large quantities (up to 68% of its composition) and 1,8-cineole in a smaller but significant quantity. Their action is called expectorant: the expulsion of mucus from the respiratory tract, and thus their clearance, will be stimulated. Precisely, alpha pinene will regulate the excessive secretion of mucus by acting on the mucin glands of the respiratory mucosa, mucin taking part in the composition of the mucus.

The interest in alpha pinene does not stop there. With limonene also present in Green Myrtle essential oil, they have a soothing power on the respiratory mucosa which will calm or prevent irritation linked to coughing.

Eucalyptus Radiata thins mucus and fights inflammation

L'Eucalyptus Radiata essential oil brings to the mixture a high level of 1,8-cineole, a molecule with multiple virtues. On the one hand, it intervenes on expectoration, thus reinforcing the power of the alpha pinene of Green Myrtle. 1,8-cineole acts just like the latter by stimulating the mucin glands, but also by thinning the mucus and stimulating the motility of the cilia present on the surface of the cells of the respiratory mucosa. All this will promote the mobilization of mucus and its expulsion.

On the other hand, 1,8-cineole is an anti-inflammatory targeted on the respiratory tree and will therefore limit bronchial inflammation. Finally, in Eucalyptus Radiata essential oil, this molecule is associated with alpha terpineol. This association gives it a strong antiviral property necessary for synergy, the vast majority of acute bronchitis being of viral origin.

Savory Leaf Thyme against infection

Any “anti-bronchitis” synergy must haveSavory Leaf Thyme Essential Oil in its composition. First of all, it is extremely anti-infectious due to its content of phenols and terpene alcohols, which will make it possible to act effectively against the pathogens causing acute bronchitis.

But this essential oil mainly has a regulatory role at the immune level. Indeed, the borneol it contains as a main component is anti-hyper-gamma-globulinemic. This term simply means that it will prevent the excessive production of antibodies, particularly during acute infections such as bronchitis.

Finally, borneol is known to inhibit molecules (cytokines) associated with the inflammatory response. Just like Eucalyptus Radiata but in another way, Savory Leaf Thyme essential oil will also help limit inflammation.

Black Pepper against fever and pain

L'Black Pepper essential oil has a molecule providing an antipyretic component (which makes fever go away) to the mixture. This is beta caryophyllene, a hypothermic sesquiterpene whose role is to reduce body temperature when it is too high. In addition, this essential oil is analgesic because it has limonene with antinociceptive action. Nociceptors are sensory receptors responsible for transmitting the sensation of pain to the brain via a nerve impulse.

Thus, thanks to the addition of limonene and beta caryophyllene to this synergy, the symptoms of fever and pain often present during bronchitis will be reduced.

Odorous Inula: the most expectorant

L'Fragrant Inula essential oil provides an oil perfectly suited to the treatment of bronchitis in young children. The bornyl acetate it possesses is an ester with a very good analgesic effect, meaning it causes a loss of sensitivity to pain.

Its action is also at another level: modulating the secretion of nitric oxide and certain prostaglandins involved in the inflammatory reaction, it will limit the latter. Combined with the 1,8-cineole of Eucalyptus Radiata, this essential oil is therefore necessary for relieving inflammation of the respiratory tract during bronchitis.

Finally, especially recognized for its powerful decongestant properties, Inule Odorante essential oil reinforces the expectorant action of Eucalyptus Radiata, which is essential for easier breathing.

Tea Tree stimulates the immune system and eliminates viruses

L'Tea Tree Essential Oil brings to this synergy molecules with antibacterial and antiviral properties, making this essential oil THE anti-infectious component of the mixture. Mostly viral, bronchitis can also sometimes be of bacterial origin. Tea Tree essential oil, with its broad spectrum of action, can therefore fight pathogens on all fronts.

In addition, the terpinen-4-ol present in this essential oil will mobilize white blood cells, important molecules of the immune system, for optimal defense of the body. For these reasons, Tea Tree essential oil perfectly complements the mixture to eradicate the symptoms of bronchitis as quickly as possible!

Why these vegetable oils?

Nigella vegetable oil

To support the anti-infectious properties of Savory leaf thyme essential oil, nigella vegetable oil reveals its secret weapon: the combination of anti-microbial properties with immunostimulating properties! Thus, Nigella oil helps both prevent the proliferation of these microbes that cause bronchitis, and boost natural defenses to help them fight against the microbes already present.

Argan vegetable oil

L'oil vegetable argan is the queen of vegetable oils intended for skin application. Its fine particles are easily absorbed by the epidermis. The essential oils that will be integrated into it will therefore not be trapped on the surface of the skin. In addition, it repairs and regenerates skin easily damaged by pollution or the sun. If you already have the essential oils necessary for your synergy and all you are missing is Argan vegetable oil...
