After a very rich diet in winter (or summer!), we accumulate fats and toxins which cause fatigue, bad appearance and difficult digestion. A treatment for metabolic cleansing then does the greatest good. The cure therefore consists of cleaning, helping and regenerating the organs of detoxification (liver and gallbladder) and elimination (kidneys, intestine, skin).

Why these essential oils?

Lemon cleanses the liver

The detoxification cure is first of all cleaning the liver. L'lemon essential oil is decongestant and detoxifying hepatocytes thanks to the action of limonene, a monoterpene with cholagogue properties. This means that it promotes the release of bile towards the intestine by causing a bile flush from the vesicle which empties by contracting.

Limonene also has anti-oxidant activity, meaning it neutralizes free radicals. These free radicals come from metabolic waste and xenobiotics. They are harmful to the body because they attack the fatty acids of cell membranes and DNA; they thus degrade liver cells. This anti-oxidant property is therefore essential for the proper functioning of the liver and its ability to transform fats. This activity, as well as the natural regeneration of liver cells in adulthood, best repairs this key organ.

The monoterpenes of Lemon essential oil (limonene, beta pinene, gamma terpinene) are blood thinners; they participate in the proper functioning of the circulatory system and therefore allow the elimination of toxic elements.

Peppermint promotes digestion

Digestive activator par excellence, peppermint essential oil is particularly effective against liver problems. Menthone, a ketone present between 12 and 32% in this essential oil, drains the liver by promoting the secretion of bile then its evacuation into the intestine. Bile emulsifies fats in the intestine and carries toxins very quickly from the liver to the digestive tract in order to eliminate them; it also acts on the motility of the digestive system by promoting intestinal peristalsis. These activities of bile contribute mainly to good digestion and therefore to the rejection of harmful or overabundant molecules tiring the liver.

This essential oil is a good support for all the detoxifying organs of the body: liver, kidneys, intestines, since it is a general and particularly digestive tonic.

Rosemary with Verbenone detoxifies

L'rosemary essential oil with Verbenone, rich in verbenone, a monoterpene ketone, is a very effective liver detoxifier. It combines here with Lemon essential oil to perfect this detoxification of the body.

It has, like lemon essential oil, a regenerative activity for liver cells; it also has an interesting liver-draining activity through its cholagogue properties. Indeed, facilitating the release of bile towards the intestines makes it possible to evacuate waste more easily and quickly, then transported by intestinal movements until their expulsion.

Verbenone is a molecule from the ketone family, highly dosed in this Rosemary essential oil. It is an excellent lipolytic; it breaks down fatty substances in the blood, which facilitates their elimination. It is in particular an effective solution against the accumulation of bad cholesterol.

Juniper helps flush out toxins

At the same time as cleaning the liver, all degradation metabolites that are not useful for the body must be removed. L'juniper essential oil is extra-draining. It is called aquaretic (i.e. it increases the volume of water excreted: sweat) and diuretic (it increases urinary secretion); it will therefore promote the evacuation of toxins from the emunctories (kidneys, intestines, skin).

Alpha pinene, the majority compound of this essential oil, is a circulatory decongestant. It tones the venous and lymphatic walls and therefore activates the circulation of water in the body. Indeed, the water which makes up part of the lymph and blood, allows the transport and evacuation of cellular waste from the organs (fats, toxins, etc.) via the lymphatic network and provides these same organs with the elements necessary for their regeneration via the blood. Juniper essential oil therefore supports that of Rosemary Verbenone in the elimination of metabolic waste and xenobiotics.
